Als de worm zweeft boven het wormwiel, dan zit er iets tussen motor en de bak waarin de motor ligt,
wat daar niet hoort te zitten, b.v. de sleperdraad.
Beginnen we met de plaatjes, die zeggen niet alles,
want het plaatje dat ik eerder gaf laat zien hoe het model is voorbereid voor 3-rail.
Er zijn aparte gaten gereserveerd om de 3-rail bedrading te geleiden, en volgens mij gaat het daarom:
waar steekt de draad van de sleepschoen doorheen en waar gaat hij heen?
Ik verwacht dat er altijd 2 draden aan een DC-motor zitten (+ en -).
Maar dit analoge DC-model heeft maar 1 draad aan de motor,
de andere draad is vervangen door een schroef die contact maakt met het geleidende chassis.
Die draden komen (bij een analoge AC-loc) niet direct van de wielen en sleepschoen,
omdat er een rijrichting omschakel relais tussen geschakeld zit in het huisje van de machinist.
En dat staat ook zo beschreven:

The motor contact (...) simply contacts the chassis below the rear motor support.
Somehow this will need to be insulated.
De 3-rail versie:Citeer(...)this model was also made in an AC version with an additional wire to the central skid pickup,
and separate wires to each of the motor terminals.
These four wires were taken through to the cab where the reversing relay was located.
The beneficial side-effect of this version is that there are already grooves in the chassis to take these wires.
One of these is immediately near the black wire in the above photo.
The larger slot for the other three wires passes through the rear motor mount.
